HADESTOWN WEST END NOMINATED FOR AN OLIVIER AWARD

HADESTOWN's West End production is nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.

The show opened at the Lyric Theatre on February 21st 2024, following its 2018/2019 run at London's National Theatre.

HBO'S 'RUNAWAY BUNNY' FEATURES MUSIC BY KIMYA DAWSON

HBO Max's new animation film 'The Runaway Bunny', narrated by Tracee Ellis Ross, features the song "You Are My Baby' by Kimya Dawson. The soundtrack also includes Mariah Carey, Rufus Wainwright, Kelly Rowland and Michael Kiwanuka among others.

Anais Mitchell's newly expanded theatrical version of her acclaimed album 'Hadestown' opens at New York Theatre Workshop in May 2016, and due to high demand the run has been extended until July. The show is written by Anais and directed by Obie award winner Rachel Chavkin.

ANAÏS MITCHELL WINS AT THE BBC RADIO2 FOLK AWARDS

Anais Mitchell won Best Traditional Song together with collaborator Jefferson Hamer at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall in London, Anais and Jefferson also performed the winning track 'Willie of Winsbury' from their Child Ballads album. Huge congratulations!

Anais Mitchell's "Hadestown" has received a Grammy nomination for Best Recording Package, together with her collaborators, art director Brian Grunert and illustrator Peter Nevins. Congratulations to all. The release met with critical acclaim from all corners, with 5 star reviews in The Sunday Times, Guardian and Observer. Tastemaker website Drowned in Sound awarded the album a rare 10/10, asserting that it is "nothing short of awe-inspiring", while NME gave it 9/10, calling it "nothing short of incredible".

Wallis Bird has won a Meteor Award for the second year running - this time as Best Female Artist. The ceremony was held in Dublin's RDS where other winners on the night included Florence and the Machine, Leonard Cohen and Lady Gaga.

Konstantin Gropper, alias Get Well Soon, has signed to Candid. The 25 year old German has been turning heads in his native Germany where he became the biggest indie newcomer in 2008 with a top 30 debut album and sell-out 19 date headlining tour. JUNO SOUNDTRACK HITS NO1 IN USA; CHARTS AROUND WORLD

Congratulations to Kimya Dawson on the massive success of the soundtrack to 'Juno', the Oscar winning hit film. The soundtrack, which is mainly comprised of songs by Kimya and her former band The Moldy Peaches, went to number 1 on the American Billboard charts, and has been climbing high in the charts around the rest of the world too.

The song '1234' by Sally Seltmann (aka New Buffalo) and Feist is now on a worldwide TV advertising campaign for Apple iPods. Congratulations to Sally! The song has already gone into the Top 20 in the UK and has been a regular feature on the playlists of many national radio stations including BBC Radio Two's A list for several weeks.

WALLIS BIRD SIGNS TO ISLAND

Wallis Bird has signed a worldwide deal with Island Records UK, joining a stable of artists that includes U2, PJ Harvey, Amy Winehouse and Lady Sovereign, and classic artists such as John Martyn, Nick Drake and Bob Marley. Island Records will release the 'Branches Untangle' EP in late November, with the first single and first album to follow in early 2007. Congratulations Wallis from everyone at Candid!
