Man of the Year

  • Man of the Year

Portland's Man of the Year have been creating a stir up and down the West coast of America, with a loyal fan base that is rapidly growing.

Their well-crafted tunes and memorable hooks have led to their songs being used on numerous American TV shows including 'Roswell', 'North Shore', 'Tru Calling' and 'Miracles'.

The band themselves have appeared on a special Halloween episode of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' playing their songs. They were subsequently included on the 2003 soundtrack album 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Radio Sunnydale'.

The band's full length debut, 2001's "The Future Is Not Now," climbed to No. 5 on the College Media Journal charts, and their follow up in 2004 was produced by Tony Lash of Portland's The Dandy Warhols, entitled 'A New and Greater Tokyo'.

"Swirling, spacey layers of pop goodness.......Man of the Year deliver a spellbinding gem here. Whether you want to sing along, get up and jump around, or sit down and sink into contemplative mode, Man of the Year's stunning, shimmering brand of Brit-meets-new-wave-power-pop is a jaw-dropper"
